In the fall, I took five classes and was hoping to do the same this spring. However, since I didn't find out until midway through last semester that UCF allows you to register for fall and spring classes at the same time, most of the classes I needed were full. I did manage to get four classes, but on the first day of my Wednesday class I was told by the professor that I didn't have the necessary prerequisites and had to drop the class. Why this information is nowhere to be found (not even on the course syllabus) and why the system didn't block me from adding the class at registration, I'll never know. But, I am now down to three classes. This may mean that the program will take me longer than I would like. On the bright side, this should allow me plenty of time to do my 80 classroom observation/field experience hours.
So far, I like my remaining three classes. I think Children's literature is going to be my favorite this semester. The teacher is fun and energetic and the material is fascinating. Current Methods in Elementary School Science will probably be a close second. The syllabus is a little vague, so I'm not quite sure what to expect.
