Michael's Birthday

Happy 23rd birthday, Michael! My mom was very excited to have Mike in Florida for his birthday (she LOVES birthdays) and insisted that he celebrate it in the Eisenmenger tradition. This basically means that Mike got to tell the whole family what to do all day long. We started the day with a run with the dogs, had breakfast at Sonic, and took a long relaxing nap. For his birthday present, my dad thought that with all the running he's been doing lately, Mike would like new running shoes. So, my mom took us to The Running Zone where Mike got his stride analyzed and was fitted for new running shoes. His old ones were giving him blisters, so this should make the half-marathon in February much more pleasant.

We then went to the Indian River Brewing Company where Mike, Kris, Danielle and my father all sampled beers in their tasting room. The tasting room was on a balcony over looking the interior of the brewery with all the metal tanks, which was really neat. Mike also had fun picking out a case of mix-and-match bottled beers to take home. He looked like a kid in a candy store. :-) For dinner we went to Coasters, a pub that Mike picked because it is known for having the best beers in the county (is anyone sensing a theme yet?). We ate piles of fried food and Mike got sampler trays of different beers. We then headed home where Mike opened his present from Kris and Danielle (ten mix-and-match beers). We also played a game of Trivial Pursuit while Mike and my dad drank, what else, but more beer. What a perfect birthday for a budding beer connoisseur!
