Yes. It's official. We have a place to live! It's a little three bedroom, two bath house in Lake Worth, FL with a one car garage. It has screened pool, a large paved patio and a tiny, but fully fenced and impeccably landscaped back yard. The pool is a salt water pool, which is fantastic because I really don't like the idea of the dogs being constantly drenched in chlorine. The house backs up to a tiny canal (so we'll have fewer neighbors for the dogs to bark at) and it is a few houses down from the neighborhood tennis courts, community pool, and playground. The neighborhood is also across the street from a large and well-reviewed elementary school. If I can get a job there, I could easily walk or bike to work.
It is about a 25 minute commute to the FAU campus, but it is close to some of the teaching hospitals where Mike will be doing rotations third and fourth years. Besides which, any affordable house in Boca Raton is at least 20 minutes away from campus. Apparently, commuting north and south is much faster than commuting east and west in this area of Florida. We plan to move in after we get back from the Long Lake trip, which should give us plenty of time to get settled before Mike begins classes.
We don't have any pictures to post right now, but I promise to post some after we move in this summer.
