Buyer Beware

Well, it looks like all the delays in the bank processing our offer on the house were actually a blessing in disguise. We pulled our offer yesterday, because during the past week of living there we have realized that the house is practically falling apart. The kitchen cabinets are infested with black mold, the locks are broken off of all of the windows, and one window is leaking at the top. The sprinklers have been spraying the side of the house and parts are now molding, possibly all the way through to the interior. And, worst of all, the air conditioner is 17 years old, blows out barely cool air, and shakes so badly that it sounds like a train is going through the living room. We actually bought a window air conditioning unit for our bedroom just to survive the summer heat. Thank God we are renting on a month-to-month basis. Needless to say, we are now looking for another place to live.
